How do the Common Core State Standards impact teachers?

One of the most useful things about the CCSS, in my opinion, is that teachers are always provided with consistent goals and benchmarks to ensure students are progressing on a path for success in college, career, and life. What are your thoughts?

Have you read the CAL Brief Implementing the Common Core for English Learners? The article focuses on argumentation, language and literacy, and shifts in text types. The right sidebar has tips for engaging ELs with complex text. This is definitely a must read. I am also attaching the article in this post.
