The goal of this 90-minute webinar, facilitated in Spanish, is to build awareness of important differences between Spanish and English phonology and orthography and their impact on curriculum, instruction and assessment in Spanish/English bilingual classrooms. Word walls, rhyming, and an examination of the relationship between intonation patterns in oral Spanish and the corresponding use of accents in written Spanish will be addressed as part of authentic and effective biliteracy instruction and assessment.
